I love Royals they are my favourite snakes fell for them when at college as we had five there although they were tricky to feed compared to the emerald tree boas they were a dream to deal with I went to get one three years ago but my OH fell in love with our Albino Nelson Milksnake so as he didn't really like snakes, we came away with Chico instead, i'll post some pics of him of some time. They are really lovely Marg, hopefully one day I will have one, you can't beat them for curling up on the hand love!

Hi & thanks for replies, Tsezla is only about 3 months old, he is so nicely marked, that is the first thing i noticed about him, Tulla is back with the breeder at the minute, i had her for over a month & couldn't get her to eat, so the breeder, who is a friend of mine, took her back for a while to get her feeding, Eden, my older royal has just started eating again after his fast for 9/10 weeks, he was after love, but will have to wait a couple of years till Tulla is old enough. That is the only downfall with the royals, they do go off their food at times, the males at breeding time, but they can just for no apparent reason, if you can live with that, then they are a wonderful snake to own, calm, not too big & not aggressive. It took me a while to get my head round it i have to say, i do tend to worry a lot, so when Eden stopped eating just before Christmas, i was worried sick, thought it was something i was or had done. Marg.

Oh they're beautiful!!! I'm curious about the first photo Had Tsezla seen something interesting? It looks like he was going to head off to investigate I've not kept snakes but absolutely loved holding one a couple of times and am fascinated by them (not intending to keep one, just curious!) . Do they enjoy physical contact? The one I held seemed to and it seemed like she was almost reading me as she curled her there and everywhere They seem so present through the whole of their bodies. Amazing photos thank you for sharing! Best wishes, Catherine

Catherine,
That photo of Tsezla was taken a few minutes after i brought him home, i had just taken the lid off the tub i brought him home in, so, yes he was investigating. My 2, that are at home at the moment, both enjoy being handled, the 1 at the breeder, i don't really know as yet, she was a difficult girl & so was advised not handle her.
Marg.
